I wouldn't call myself a sopranino specialist by any stretch of the imagination, but this mouthpiece certainly makes it much easier! Considering there is naturally a bit more resistance inherent to playing sopranino, this mouthpiece makes for a nice clean response, with a vibrant full tone. Just as you would normally expect from any other mouthpiece in the S80 range! 

Although the difference between the tip opening measurements is very small. For such a small mouthpiece it makes for quite a difference in feel! For good reed pairings, I found a Vandoren 3 is a safe bet for either. For the C* I felt I could go up to a 4 with a bit of work. And inversely, I felt like I could lean towards a strength 2 on the D tip opening. Similarly with Alexander reeds, a 3 is a safe bet for both, although I'd maybe consider a 2.5 on the D and a 3.5 on the C*. Although it can be hard work, I'd recommend playing the hardest reed you are able to on sopranino as this really helps with achieving good intonation and tuning! - Oren Gurney (oren@sax.co.uk)
