    Choosing The Right Size

    Hard Rubber/Plastic Mouthpieces

If you have a standard sized hard rubber or plastic mouthpiece (such as a Yamaha 4C or Selmer C*), you will want to select the following sizes:Ā

    • Soprano = L-1RVS (L3)
    • Alto = L-1RL (L6)
    • Tenor = L-2R (L8)
    • Baritone = L-3R (L9)Ā (except in the case of Otto Link, Meyer, Vandoren V16 and other slimmer style baritone mouthpieces)
    Metal Mouthpieces

Metal mouthpieces can vary a lot in size depending on the brand, but the majority of well known manufacturers will take the following sizes:Ā

    • Alto = L-1M (L11)
    • Tenor = L-2M (L12)
    • Baritone = L-3ML (L13)

The main exception to this rule isĀ Metal Otto Links, which take the following sizes:Ā

    • Alto = L-3ML (L13)
    • Tenor = L-3ML (L13)
    • Baritone = No size available. We recommend theĀ Rovner Dark "3MVL"

Please Note:Ā Despite Rovners extensive list of options, there are occasionally mouthpiecesĀ where the correct size is not immediately obvious. This is particularly true of baritone and bass mouthpieces, which can vary in size considerably depending on make. If you are at all unsure about which ligature would be best for your mouthpiece, please get in touch via [email protected] and we'll be happy to help you!
